Summit Keynote – Kimo Kippen

Kimo Kippen

Kimo Kippen, President of Aloha Learning Advisors, is a thought leader, speaker and advocate for life-long learning and talent development. A native of Hawai’i, former Chief Learning Officer at Hilton, recognized by CLO Magazine as Chief Learning Officer of the Year – 2015, and former VP of Learning at Marriott International, Kimo has been creating life-long learning solutions for hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. 

Kimo has served as chairman of the board for the Association for Talent Development (formerly, American Society for Training & Development) and currently is a board member of the Council for Adult & Experiential Learning (CAEL), and the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Board of Visitors.  He is also chairman of the board for the Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF), serves as advisor to Study.com, the Executive Advisory Board for Skillsoft and is program director for The Conference Board Talent & Organizational Development Executive Council (TODEC).

​Kimo’s passion for learning, facilitating and teaching has drawn him into the academic world as an adjunct professor at Catholic University of America, George Mason University and at Columbia University Teachers College where he serves on the Talent Development Advisory board. He is also Lead Facilitator for iVentiv HR Executive learning events (London, Berlin, Amsterdam, New York City).

​Kimo has an M.S. in career and human resource development from Rochester Institute of Technology, a B.S. from the University of Hawaii, and is a graduate of the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland’s Post Graduate Program. Kimo’s home base alternates between Washington DC, Warsaw, Poland and Honolulu, Hawai’i where he and his spouse, Dorota Kowalska, regularly spend quality time.

 

Afternoon General Session – Mike Parkinson

Mike Parkinson

Mike Parkinson is a Microsoft PowerPoint MVPs in the United Sates and an APMP. He regularly conducts workshops at companies like Microsoft, Xerox, Dell, and Lockheed Martin as well as at learning institutions, not-for-profit organizations, and government agencies.

Over the last 24 years, Mike has spearheaded over one thousand successful projects and created thousands of presentations, proposals, white papers, websites, and training materials that resulted in improved success rates and revenue for his clients.

Mike owns Billion Dollar Graphics, a design firm, 24 Hour Company, authored Do-It-Yourself Billion Dollar Graphics, and wrote ATD’s newest PowerPoint book.

 

 

Closing General Session – Jim Snack

Jim Snack

Jim Snack is an award winning Certified Speaking Professional who specializes in motivation and engagement. In addition to presenting keynote speeches and seminars, Jim is completing his PhD in Organizational Communication at the University at Albany where he teaches public speaking and leadership communication.

Jim has been featured as a “Consummate Speaker of the Year” by Sharing Ideas Magazine. He was recognized as an outstanding teacher by the International Communication Association, and he received the McNally Award for outstanding teaching from the University at Albany Department of Communication.

Jim is a one less than 700 speakers worldwide who hold the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation, the highest earned award bestowed by the National Speakers Association. He is Past President of the Connecticut Chapter of the National Speakers Association and Past President of the Hudson-Mohawk Chapter of the Association for Talent Development.

Presenting over a hundred programs annually for businesses, associations, government agencies, schools, healthcare and human service organizations, Jim has worked with General Electric, Disney, Lucent Technologies, General Motors, and the Environmental Protection Agency.
